Peace and Prosperity

Walking through Chinatown past the Wo Fat Building with Valerie.   We were looking for chocolate.

Wo Fat, meaning Peace and Prosperity, was first erected in 1882,  destroyed in the Chinatown fire of 1886, and then rebuilt, destroyed again, rebuilt… Out of the ashes Wo Fat  rises like the Phoenix.  For now, and hopefully for a lot longer the landmark building stands at the corner of Maunakea and Hotel street.

We found the chocolate later, at Madre's.
