Raiatea 16.8°S 151.4°W

By the time the last day came I was really sad to leave Raiatea.  Falling in love with the islands was too easy.  It had to do with the brilliant greens and blues and the people who make you smile.
Eric, my lovely pilot showed me an unsuspected side of Raiatea.
I've heard it said several times that the islands either welcome or reject you.  When I look back, I think in their own way, all the islands welcomed me, and in each one I could have stayed longer.  I understand why the PTBs insist that we purchase return tickets when we visit the islands!

You may wonder what the archer is doing there.  He was my favourite Bobby Holcom painting.  I had never heard of Bobby Holcom* before but I was introduced to his paintings, which depict in brilliant  ochers, scenes of mythological Tahiti.  This one, although I put in my own version, a little Bobby Holcom, a little Sagittarius, my sign, represents, in it's original form the Platform of the Archers.
