Maimiti

I met Maimiti at Pension Guynette, in the front courtyard, we were intrigued by each other and felt an immediate connection. Maimiti had all the grace and beauty that one associates with the islands.  She was also, at one time, Miss Tahiti.

One of the things I loved about Huahine is that women still wore their pareos about the island.  And their heads were always full of flowers.

Maimiti, who is native to Huahine took me around to her home on her land. We went from blossoming tree to blossoming shrub. Ylang Ylang, hibiscus, vanilla, frangipani, monette and other fragrant flora and she filled my hair with flowers.  I was in heaven!
