Take in a Musical!

I was lucky enough to get a last minute ticket to Roger and Hammerstein's South Pacific musical at the Diamond Head Theatre.
South Pacific has been performed on countless stages.  Since it's first performance in 1949, it has never lost it's appeal.  As soon as the first line of "Some Enchanted Evening" resounds in the theatre, the enchantment begins.  These songs have become iconic, and without trying, we know the words, we know the music.
The story is set in wartime in the South Pacific and revolves around two love stories strongly shadowed by racial prejudice.  Controversial subject then, it reflects society's biases of the time, and by extension shows us how much we have mercifully grown since.
Diamond Head Theatre is just the right size for this kind of performance, not too big and not too small.
The performance was outstanding, the music an absolute delight and the set exactly as expected. All in all a memorably lovely evening!
